We might be bending the truth a little when we say that we know for sure that extra leagues are in the offing, but the word is that EA could be expanding FIFA’s lineup to include possibly the Israeli Premier League.
Given Israel’s roster of clubs regularly feature in UEFA’s European club competitions, it makes sense that EA would be looking to wrap them up into its lineup, bringing the likes of Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa into the fold.
Would adding Israeli teams do much for FIFA’s sales, however? Globally, it doesn’t exactly look like a priority, but it would certainly add a sense of authenticity to FIFA’s take on European competitions – an area where Fifa 17 Coins already lags behind rival Pro Evolution, which currently has the Champions League and Europa League licenses.
There’s no sign of that changing, either, so if FIFA can’t boast UEFA’s competitions in any official capacity, it might as well make its take on them as credible as they can possibly be, right?
