One Dundee United fan has launched a petition to see his side included in the hit Fifa video game series after they were relegated to the Championship.
As if being relegated from the Premiership by your Cheap Fifa 17 Coins closest rivals wasn’t enough, United fans not won’t be able to guide their team back to glory on the latest edition of the football game.
The petition, which at the time of writing had only 46 signatures, is urging computer game giant EA Sports to include the Tangerines.
The Fifa series only features top flight clubs, meaning that the Tannadice side will be omitted from the game.
A reasoning for the petition states: “So many Dundee United fans love playing the Fifa game, it just won’t be the same without Dundee United in Fifa 17, come on EA sports do the right thing, add Dundee United to Fifa 17! ”
One supporter of the petition commented: “I play Fifa all the time, mainly using Dundee United… Not having them on it could possibly lower the sales of Fifa 17. I would recommend putting the Scottish Championship on the game as there are good teams in that league. ”
However, another was not so supportive of the idea adding on social media: “I’m really not caring in all honesty but fair play. ”
While one realist said: “More things to worry about rather than us being on Fifa 17…”
Last year, Rangers fans launched a similar petition to see their side included in the best-selling game – it gathered thousands of signatures.
Rangers have previously been included in the ‘rest of the world’ section alongside the likes of Galatasaraay, Shakhtar Donetsk and AEK Athens in previous editions of the game.
But, due to a licensing agreement The Gers were omitted from last year’s game. They will return to the title after securing their place in the Scottish Premiership.
EA Sports were asked for comment, but have yet to respond.
